T250II fork oil seals

Post by MartinR »

Trying to replace the fork oil seals on a Suzuki T250II. Have got the collar off the fork leg and prized the old seal out. But unable to get the new oil seal in. There is a lip round the top of the collar that you need to get the seal past, but the replacement seal is too rigid to force past it. The old seal seems much more flexible.

Have I bought a dud replacement seal or is there some way of getting over this problem?

Thanks
Martin

Realised the 'lip' is actually the metal outer casing of the old oil seal still stuck in there. The new oil seals don't have a metal casing hence the confusion. All sorted now anyway.

Lol. Glad you got to the bottom of it, and all by yourself too.
