I noticed a GT750 in this years IBR and wondered if it's anybody from here (Jerry Anderson)?
.....regardless I don't post here much but visit frequently and I thought this might be of interest to the group.

Jerry Anderson’s Adventure GT750, a screaming three cylinder two stroke, vintage 1974. Jerry rode the Haul Road in Alaska on it, so he definitely doesn’t consider it hopeless. Mosquito control at no extra charge.

I would not want to have to follow the 1974 GT750. Fumes so bad. Make him go last. I have done my best to get the highest mpgs out of my bikes but when I ride most complain after a while so I go in the back. If a line of cars behind me I'll pull over too.

Last I checked ~ 35 mpg out my 1975 GT750. All new brass, stock jetting and no air jet mod.

A lot depends on the oil pump setting as well as the type of oil you use etc. My 750 hardly smokes and just has a slight visible haze by each pipe end under hard exceleration.
The back of the pipes also runs almost dry with a dark brown colour, the plugs look like they came out of a well tuned four stroke engine.

Update:

Jerry Anderson rode his 1974 two stroke GT750 to the finish, in 78th
place. He corrected my earlier speculation about picking a route to avoid altitude jetting issues and noted that he had
no problem getting over 10,000 foot passes. He may be the only one not surprised that the bike
made the trip. It was a very impressive ride.

Way to go Jerry!!

An incredible feat! My brother has done 3 Iron Butts on modern bikes, it is not only tough on a bike but also hard to do physically and mentally to finish 11k miles in 11 days. Congrats to him!
