Has anyone done a gear swap from a GT380 to a GT550?

Exectly what gear do you mean?
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

The entire rack and shift drum to convert the GT550 to 6 speed

Never heard of it, but the GT550 torque spread doesn't really need 6 gears.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
