I have a 73 T500 I have just rebuilt and put back on the road. It came with a new chain and sprockets, 110 link chain 15, 33 sprockets. I have ridden it about 60 miles and want to gear it down a bit lower. I ride mostly 2 lane mountain roads and seldom would have it on the highway.
With the 15 tooth front and 110 chain does anyone know what the largest rear sprocket I could run without needing a longer chain?
The smallest I see readily available other than 33's are 40 tooth and I doubt the chain would fit around it and I don't think I want to go 7 teeth anyway. So I was going to either special order one or get a blank sprocket and drill the bolt holes in it.
Thanks for any help.

Re: T500 sprocket/gearing question
There are optional 14 & 13 tooth front sprockets you can use to gear down.
14 tooth = P/N 27511-15700
13 tooth = P/N 27511-15710
or source an aftermarket equivalent
Cheers Geoff

Thanks for your reply Geoff ,that would be a way to go but I didn't want to go smaller on the front mostly just to keep the chain away from the swingarm.

Re: T500 sprocket/gearing question
Hi,
I know where you are coming from about chain/swinging arm clearance. I have the same issue on my Seeley frame so it now wears a nylon slider (from an MX bike). As Suzuki list the smaller sprockets as "alternatives" to the 15T I would assume they should be OK clearance wise. I have no direct experience of that though, perhaps others can confirm.
Cheers Geoff
