T500 Tachometer stops with Clutch

Just rebuilt a 1974 T500, last used in 1996.

I notice the tachometer stops when I pull in the clutch. As this is driven from the oil pump, I'm concerned about loosing oil feed.

Does anyone know if this is a common thing with the T500?.

Regards
Steve

All T/GT 500 do this. You can put the transmission in neutral at a stop light if you want, but I don't, and have 30,000 miles on without ever having trouble.

No clutch issues with 'riding' the clutch at lights karl?
Many cars and bikes don't like that treatment, I reckon it's good practise to learn to snick into neutral just before you come to a halt.
(But then, I don't like automatic parking on cars either!)

No, I haven't had any problems with the clutch in any of my bikes, and I put many miles a year on them, I reckon if the clutch is adjusted properly it shouldn't be a problem.
