1974 GT550 crank work

Post by Todd's-74 »

I just bought 2 GT550's. One has a bad crank shaft & piston. I was wondering if someone could recommend a good machine shop and parts supplier? I live in Florida just as an FYI.
Thanks.

Bill Bune in Anoka MN. Has rebuilt 3 of my GT cranks. Google him for the contact info.

Bill is the man.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

Did he provide bearings and seals when he rebuild your cranks?

Not for me. I had previously purchased bearings and seals from Paul Miller. But my guess is he can get them for you or has them in stock.

He can, but I always get seals from Paul Miller, and send them along. I have not had to replace a bearing. If you do need bearings, again (as much as some people don't like) Paul Miller is still the best source I know of. Not cheap, but the right stuff.
