Aftermarket gt550 pipes unknown

Not my pipes. Guy wants a ludacris $400. One visable hole and one baffle gone.

Not sure. I am sure they are not worth 400.....maybe Ocelot.

Lane
If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

Good guess Lane, but all the Ocelot pipes I have seen don't have a parallel belly section. The muffler design and mounts look very much like Bassani pipes which are usually pretty good. That set needs some pretty major repair work to fix that gouge.

If the baffle design is similar to a 750, it will be much longer than most of the competition back in the day but like the others eventually cut the muffler in half. They typically used disks around the perforated core to break it into sections, but with vibration, those disks sawed their way through the steel cans. J&R were worse for that, but the baffle does need to be redesigned.

The best use for those pipes is to repair and test them and if they are any good, replicate them with a modern aluminum bodied muffler. They may be worth that to someone, but that seems very steep for what they are. Almost anyone could roll cones and weld up pipes and buy new mufflers for less that that and end up with better pipes. But that's just my opinion, YMMV

That was my guess, what do we actually know about the pipes and where are they posted for sale?
