Suzuki 2 Strokes

I'm going to replace the bearings in my rear wheel. I've got a slight noc in there and it has an expanded presentation at high speed. I had the bike up on the stand , running in gear, and can see the chain wiggle / pop every time the bearing hits "the " spot.

Is there an expert out there, any up front words of wisdom? Will this be a pop them out / pop them in sort of deal or will this require a machine shop with a press? Thank you for the advice..

It can be done at home....not difficult.

It almost sounds like a bad link in the chain. Any ways, you can knock the bearings out with a long pin punch and a hammer. Shove the spacer out of the way and go through from the opposite side tapping equally around the inner race. When the bearing and spacer come out you can use a larger drift or pipe to drive the last bearing out. Clean the bore of the wheel with Scotchbrite or fine abrasive paper as the bore is usually cheesed up. Use a large socket or pipe just slightly smaller than the o.d. of the bearing and tap it in SQUARE using a mallet. Install the spacer and do the same thing to the last bearing. Putting the bearings in the freezer will help. Do not pound on the inner race of your new bearings. Your bike is very sharp!

Yep, I just did this exact process two weeks ago on my T500. Works perfect. As a side note I would pack the bearings full of grease before you install them.

It is worth checking the wheel bearings first. With the back wheel off the ground hold the wheel at points 180 degrees apart and push-pull to see if there is any play.

I got the bearings replaced in the rear wheel. Putting them in the freezer before installation made them easy to knock into place. Thanks for the advice. Wheel is turning much smoother. I have a new chain coming. I had a o-ring type on the bike but it was wide and I found to be rubbing a bit in the motor side.

I still have a nagging issue with that Carb Bucking. I'll set up another case for that.. LP
