Suzuki 2 Strokes

Hi, does anybody have any links or info to help me out with the kickstarter on this bike not engaging.
I have taken of the cover to inspect the shaft and cannot find anything broken or missing.Thanks in advance.

take a look at the parts diagram on the kick start shaft. There is a drive pawl that engages in an internal gear to create the ratchet mechanism. Usually they get worn. I had a T500 that would hook and miss depending on where in rotation it was and how carefully you engaged it along with how hard you kicked. Does that sound like your symptoms?

Usually they get rounded off and you can just replace the pawl but you will want to inspect the condition of the mating internal gear.
