Ok, i have had a few beers... Started the bike tonight, first time its run since 1986!

What i mean is, in the closed position, i can turn the twist grip clockwise, there does not apear to be a stop to prevent this, like on other bikes i have had. The twist grip was off the bike and in bits when i bought it, so i may be missing parts.

On. A lot of twist grips, the cable end piece that screws into the twist grip is the "stop" for the drum.
If you don't screw the cable end pice in fa me not ugh it won't perform this function.

Hope this helps

Thanks Andrew. I had hope when I read this... but no, it was screwed right in... looking at it, i am beginning to wonder if the case / twist grip part is off another bike? the engine kill switch works opposite to how it should as well... anyone any ideas?

That's not the proper throttle tube, which is why it doesn't stop !

I took a look at the one I have, and one on the web... and thought I can make that... so I made one out of brass and silver soldered it on the tube. works a treat and feels much better, and has a positive stop.

thanks guys.
