flasher relay

I'm having a similar problem to jaybob in the LED thread in that I installed new single filament bulbs in my GT500 and am getting steady light rather than blinking. seeing how that thread has moved on from the relay point I thought it'd be best to start a new one.

the electrical side of things is newer to me, so where should I be looking to pick up a new relay and/or would the one mentioned in the LED thread work? and even more basic, where on the bike is the original found? I poked around and compared back and forth to the parts catalog and am feeling somewhat foolish as I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

its usually located by the oil tank mounted to the frame and is cylinder shaped,
I have used 2 pin 12volt flasher relay's from walmart and they work fine.

have you checked to see that everything is grounded properly first?

Auto parts stores have the relays also. I used the one form superbright LEDs and it works good also.

As much as I hate to, remove the seat and look at the rectifier. Just to the left of it using the same mounting bolt is a round can with a two wire lead. That is you turn signal relay. Loosen the bolt and it should slip out of the strap holding it.

thanks: found the location on the bike yesterday, just wasn't looking in the right spot and felt even more foolish once I realized it was under my nose the whole time.
