Thanks guys. Progress has been slow for the last few weeks... I have been on holiday where i got the dreaded flu.... Its knocked me sideways! I did spend a couple of hours in the garage yesterday fitting the new ignition colils in the generator. It was harder to start than i liked, new coils fittted and it starts MUCH easier.

I have also been designing a folding footrest in my head, as its difficult to kick start with the solid one in the way...

Plus i would like to re design the side stand, as it has a tendancy to roll off it on anything other than level ground.... Anyoone eles find that? My V ROD side stand has a device to stop that so i may make somthing simmilar. Bike should be ready for the start of spring here....

Either stronger stand spring, or look at the 'stop' to see if the stand will go slightly further forward with a bit of filing?
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Sometimes I just miss the glaringly obvious! yes, 30 seconds with the angle grinder and its at a much better angle, and far less prone to rolling forward. Thanks.

Spent a bit of time making the folding foot rest. much easier to kick start with it in the up position. I fitted the spring washer to stop any rattles, and keep it in the upright position when needed.

Well its on the road for the first time since 1986! It went through the MOT with with no problems. Impressions riding it... Well its dam uncomfortable, but I knew that! it goes quite well, and there is very little vibration. I have had to adjust the rear sets a little for both the gears and the back brake. Both brakes are better than I remember, maybe its the modern friction material. It smokes a bit, but that seems to be calming down, plus I did add a little oil to the petrol, just for the first tank full.

Bike looks great. Hopefully it sells for a lot.
Question for you- I am debating using gauges on mine. Probably won't. If I do decide to use gauges, where did you get that gauge bracket for yours?

I made the bracket out of some 3mm alloy plate, but the clocks did actually come with a mounting bracket. I made one as i wanted them braced together, but it was probably overkill...
