Hi,
I have my eye on a GT250 from around 1976. If I get the frame number how can I check if its a UK bike before I buy it?

Re: frame number
is there a frame number list with manufacture year available?

Re: frame number
Billy,
I'm afraid there is not, from frame / engine number alone.
If you have the vehicle reg number you can try the DVLA website. Being present helps, though all that tells you is that its currently registered in UK. Absent doesn't mean anything - it might just be 'lost' even though it was a UK bike (their computer records are incomplete).
IF it is registered, then you can write to DVLA and they (for a fiver) will send you the listing of registered keepers and dates. I did that with my bikes and know that UK was new at 1st reg in each case.
If there are other tactics, I don't know what they are.
Sorry,
Mike
