Hey everyone,
I haven't posted in a few years, but I keep coming back to read the informative solutions everyone has for their various projects. Kudos to many of you and you could probably work for NASA with some things I have read.
My last post was about Akront stickers and what the colors were all about. I just went with Borrianis and that resolved that. In fact, many of my friends consider me the "Rim Hoarder."
Ok, so I have 1970 500III and I am putting a pair of Ceriani Roadracing forks on it with a 1972 750J 4LS on it. I finally found a correct Ceriani steering (kinda correct..workable) and I want to thank one regular (Debby) for the Parts Plus tapered roller bearing post. Got them and they seem to be perfect.
I am looking at my T500 front end and thinking "can I just put that on my T20?" I checked the parts book for both and there isn't much compatibility, but that's about individual parts. I was thinking maybe I could just swap the whole front. The Italians did it with the T500 swapping a GT750 front end on the Verruga (might have the spelling wrong there). So, has anyone done this? I would use a 18" front rim (have a Borriani that would work), otherwise everything else would be from the T500.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. And if anyone figured out what the color scheme on Akronts applies to, that's a bonus.
Best regards, Sean in Northern California
Has anyone used a T500 front end in a T20?

You can put just about anything on anything, given enough desire, cash, and engineering.
The front hub/brake may be an improvement over the T20, but I have yet to meet anyone that has anything positive to say about the T500 front suspension. It may be an improvement over the T200, but I don't know if it would even be worth the effort.

Thanks Conner,
I agree. My T500 front suspension is not a confidence builder and if I hadn't rode the bike for 30 odd years I would just say it just flat out sucks. But it may be a click above the T20 which I am restoring and haven't even rode yet. I am just curious if the '70 T500III front will swap onto the '67 T20 without much difficulty. Thought some one might have done it over the years. Regards, Sean
