Gt185 race project ignition ?

Post by S.McCain »

Want to to know if the gt250 and 185 are interchangeable? Pvl makes one for the
250.
Thanks!

I would expect that you might have to get an adapter plate machined to fit the stator, but I would expect it to be able to be fitted with a little work. Check the taper and I can compare that to a TZ which is the same as a GT250.

Try the importers Penton in Ohio.

I'm really spoiled with Yamaha's..several options there.

I have a PVL that was fitted to a GT750 and it is now on a Yamaha motor. If you have a Motoplat or FEMSA or HITACHI for a Yamaha RD/TZ twin, compare it and see what changes need to be made to the backing plate (if any).

I have a Motoplat here that has never been fitted to a bike complete with TZ mounting ring and coils. I also have one for a T500 with a larger crank nose.
