I'm looking for an electronic ignition for a gt380, I have seen a few brands but nothing here in the states recently. Does anyone have leads on where they can be easily ordered from?

I want to know that too. Also who makes one for the 550. You see them all day long for the 380 and 750, but never for the 550 I think I have determined its because the 550 points are on the right side. Backwards of the other triples.

I bought one recently but here is the route I took.
take a look at this thread....
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10958" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but here is the bulk of my comments from it.
(now the key to remember is the Euro has continued to drop against the dollar so that $378 that I paid is only $322 today)
So here is a update for anyone considering buying in the USA. I checked with two distributors located in the US and they of course don't stock them but could get them in. Prices were $507.50 plus $14.50 shipping and the other was $573 plus shipping. Ouch!
So I checked out there own site at http://www.powerdynamo.biz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and sent a couple of emails. As you can see from the responses I posted above they are very prompt and detailed in responses to inquiries. Their online store has a 5% discount and the exchange rate from USD to Euro is very good right now.
the online price for the US is 254 Euro plus 40 Euro shipping or a total of 295 Euro. Converted during payment that came to $378 delivered to my door. Note there is a risk of some import duties as stated on their website. So I placed the order last Saturday. On Sunday I got a personal response to my order (I had a specific question that they answered - I was floored....response on a Sunday!!) It shipped on Monday and I had it in my hands that Thursday!! not a week later but 4 days later! No Import duties needed! Santa came early this year!
So $378 to my doorstep from Germany and that is with the full lighting kit! $130-$180 savings buying direct. Based on that it isn't as expensive a kit as it used to seem considering you get all new electricals on the ignition and lighting side.
Now I just need to get it installed.

That's too rich for my blood. . It came with points and I guess it will stay that way. I thought there was another brand make for the 550? Dyna S or something like that. IIRC, the one I am thinking of was about $235.
Being retired does have it's disadvantages. Now I have all the time in the world to do whatever I want each and every day, but no spare coin to do it with.
As the old saying goes, Life's a bitch and then you die.

couple of clarifications. The prices haven't gone up. I was a little quick in my reply and didn't clarify that my purchas was for a T500 twin.
However what you need to know is that pricing you quoted includes 19% EU VAT tax. Price to the US is 335 Euro plus 40 Euro shipping comes in at 375 Euro delivered. That removes the 19% VAT you saw and also includes a 5% savings for creating an account with them and purchasing online. They do have a disclaimer that there may be some import duties when it clears US customs but I did not experience any with my purchase.

I bought and installed a Newtronics kit last summer and it works great. I had an issue with two pickups failing when they got hot, Newtronics replaced the pickup plate and I have had no issues since. The kit for the 380/750 can be used on the GT550 with a slight mod to the rotor.

I ordered the Power Dynamo set. I was buying coils anyway so it worked out to $125 more for the 80w charging system. Not too shabby, can't wait to get it now.
