I still contend the Ram Air shroud is a useless gimmick. Think about it.
The shroud is off. You're driving down the road. Air is passing through the fins on the head.
You put the shroud back on and go again. Air is passing through the fins on the head. More air than before? Impossible. Probably less.
Shroud is off. You're is stop and go traffic. The heat is dissipating off at a normal rate.
Shroud back on. Same stop and go traffic. Heat is trapped under the shroud and can't dissipate as efficiently as it could without it.
I have always felt this way about the shrouds on the GT380 and GT550 and I doubt you could ever change my mind. It's just plain old common sense.

Its shiny and I like bling. Er, thats it. Probably all you write is valid. OTOH I believe these bikes are not supercritical on cooling, as expected for an aircooled bike, which by design has to be massively overcooled, or we'd see a huge number killed by heat seizure, and we don't.
In the end, fit or leave off, as the owner chooses, is OK.

In theory, the Ramair cowling should help with cooling a little bit because of the funneling effect - but they're probably only truly effective at speeds higher than the bikes are actually capable of achieving.

Kawa triples were always in a higher state of tune and managed without Ramair.

It's a bit like the 'ram air' induction scoops and hoses on modern superbikes: they look great and racy, but back-to-back dyno tests with and without them have shown that they make less than 1% difference in bhp, even with the bike on a wind tunnel rig pushing air at 70+ mph. The actual increase in pressure within the airbox is like 0.5psi above ambient.

Keep center cylinder cooler ... scopes air above and directs it down.

Dampens noise that otherwise radiates from head fins

The later years looks like a German Stahlhelm WWII helmet.

That's the only reason that I will eventually put the shroud back on. The head does not look complete without it, and I don't know how I would ever match the cast fins that are there. It's really missing 2 fins per side.

I like the invisible air cleaners. That front end is almost exactly like I did with ReddZone. Same drilled rotors and same trailing calipers. The front fender is the same too, except his is on backward,

The topic reminds me of an experience a few summers ago. Stopped to fuel, a guy approaches me and asks. " Hey, is that one of them Ram Airs ? I used to have one of those. "
