Suzuki 2 Strokes

Some of the triples had a 'shorty' rear mudguard / fender, like this:



While others had a longer unit, with a 'flip', like this:



But according to the parts books, the 'rear fender rears' on the 380, 550 and 750 all have the same part number. Anyone know why there are the different styles? Was the longer guard an option, or a market / regional difference?

Hi, I know the rear guards on the 750 were longer on bikes sold in Germany,I don't know about registration requirements at the time for other parts of the World.More detail to be found on the Web "Google" GT550 Field Guide you'll find information on all the models,including the rear guards

I read this post and thought to myself 'no way'. That's impossible. The frames are all different. So I looked for myself. So as not to spend all day at it. I just checked 1975.

GT380: 63113-33001

GT550: 63113-31002

GT750: 63113-31000

The prefix 5 numbers are the same for all, but the last 5 digits are different for all. I didn't see any flip-ups, so I assume they were not for the North American market.

550 and 750 share rear guards at least same model years. 380 is quite different. Same story for the forward section of the rear guard.

And of course there were market specific versions also - depends on where your bike came from. After 40 odd years, and the advent of things like fleaBay, quite a few survivors and bits and pieces have moved a fair distance.
