Suzuki 2 Strokes

A question (or two) for Bloop2, or for anyone who has recently used his T500 Oil Pump Kit:

In the exploded picture, there are 5 o-rings/seals shown. The kit I got from you (awhile back) has a sixth o-ring, a small one. I assume that it is for the bleed screw. My pump had an (aluminum?) flat washer there. I put the o-ring on the bleed screw, but when torqued down, the o-ring distorts and squeezes out.

Has this been tested by anyone? Does the bleed screw stay in place if torqued only tight enough to keep the o-ring from distorting?

I'll be putting this pump on the bike next week (waiting on new Stat-O-Seals, to only do the job once). Would be good to know if I should trust the o-ring, or put the original washer back on.

I have to say a big thanks for making this kit available. Just finished the rebuild, and everything seems to fit excellent. I have rebuilt many similar components (semiconductor manufacturing tools), and am fully confident this will do the job nicely.

Howdy.... the small O ring is not for the bleed screw, keep the original alu washer. The small O ring is for the actuator shaft, it is a pain to remove the shaft and reassemble. There is a pin that goes through the center of the shaft, if you remove that you will be able to remove the shaft and slide it out. You will then be able to see the seal and replace it . Most people don't bother with this one as it doesn't have a tendency to leak. I only included it in the kit as it was another O ring installed in the pump. Most of us didn't know that this O ring existed when we were looking for the right seals for the pump a few years back.

Excellent. Thanks for the answer. It didn't seem correct for the bleed screw. And you are right, I didn't take apart the actuator mechanism. It is an untested pump (the one from my old motor, the pump on the new motor is leaking at the top/tach take off. Plan on swapping out pumps, figured I'd rebuild the old one and start with fresh rubber.

Rebuilt pump installed, plus new Stat-O-Seals on all of the banjo bolts. Beautiful blue Bel-Ray 2T oil coursing through all of the lines. Both bike and rider are very pleased. Thank you, Bloop.

When I have some free time, need to pull apart the failed pump, and see what is wrong with it. May need to pick up another rebuild kit, to put it all back together correctly.
