Gt750 switch gear

Post by titanx04 »

Can someone please tell me if the switch gear from a 750 will fit 550?

Hi, from 1976 A to 1977 B model the GT550 & GT750 all had the same left hand switch gear part number...57700-31622 at least in the USA ? My GT750A Australian delivered bike has a "pass" button on that switch,I don't know whether they had this in the States :| The GT550 L model switch is Part number 57700-31602 The GT550M part number is 57700-31603 once again all these part numbers are for the U.S.A Region, could change for the rest of the World ?
Hope somebody finds this info useful :!: :!:  "see below"
Cheers,
Roger

Roger, yeah the gear indicator switch (electrical), they look the same in picture.

I put motor in today now just chasing few parts, also found that the starter appears not to be Nippon as thought I had. So hopefully will be OK.

All the triples shared the same gear indicator switch. That includes the 380. I think the very early bikes had a neutral switch only. Then that switch became part of the indicator switch.
You're probably thinking that can't be right because the 380 is a 6 speed. Believe me it's the same. You just never see the 6 on the 550 and 750. The best ones were metal, but the changed to plastic pretty early on. All the wires are in a single connector except for the blue neutral wire which is separate. It's in the same harness, but it's a single bullet connector.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.
