I know guidelines vary state to state. In pa if you have antique plates on a car. You never have to renew registration and the car never needs inspected. The antique tag is a one time fee of $145 and any car or truck over 25 yrs old qualifies. Not sure if that applies to bikes also. I need to check on that. Does anyone have antique plates. If so, what perks are included ? I know some states, antique plates aren't worth it. Those states have restrictions and you have to renew registration and inspection every year.

All my bike have Antique plates. I reside in New Hampshire.

Very cheep to register like $7.50. first time you have to buy the plate I think less than $10

You only have to inspect every 2 years. But no bike shop near me does that (guy I know charges me half price since he only wants to do it once a year now. ). But having to inspect 10 bike takes me a full day. Has to be done on June in New Hampshire.

Once I did have it inspected for two years and the police got confused since the color of the Tag was not what he expect. So it's now done every year just for this reason.

Couple of my bikes have vintage plates. In Alabama the vehicle must be at least 35 years old and unmodified. There is a one time cost of $15 and never any additional fees. There is also no inspections. You must maintain at least liability insurance. You can also put a year appropriate plate on your bike, I.e., a '72 bike can be plated with a '72 AL plate. There are some driving restrictions which are largely uninforced.

Yeah, what you stated I just was informed about in pa the last could of days regarding cars. If you have a 1950 Chevy. Find or buy an original 1950 license plate. The registration is also a one time deal with no inspection. But, dirt cheap compared to buying the antique tag as I mentioned earlier.

My oldest bike doesn't have turn signals.
I have a PA antique plate on it so that I don't get any grief for not having the signals.

PA has several different categories. The rules depend on the category.

one time permanent registration
antique does not need inspection, classic does
antique can not be driven at night (that's what a policeman at a vintage bike show said)

The AAA can handle the paperwork.
Approval is not automatic -- you will need 4 photos demonstrating the condition

You are expected to keep the bike in good shape.
If you let it go to s**t, the antique plate can be revoked.

antique can be ridden to/from/at shows/events, etc.
antique can be ridden an additional one day a wheek for pleasure
As I understand it, going for a two-day weekend ride to OK because Saturday & Sunday are in different weeks.

Jab, in the last several months they changed needing 4 pictures to apply. So under that circumstance every vehicle over 25 years old would have to qualify. Do you remember approximately how long ago and how much you payed for the antique bike tags ? I may go this route. The car antique tags are expensive. But, well worth it.

Got the antique plate around 4 years ago. Not sure but I think it was something like $75.
