Suzuki 2 Strokes

Does anyone have any experience good or bad with these type battery eliminators?
These pacs don't work with electric start but it my be a good deal for a lifetime use on a kicker??

In general, I would say it won't work well, or at all, on the Suzuki twins. They require are very sensitive to low battery voltage, and my guess that this is nothing more than a large capacitor (as most "battery eliminators" are).

The twins don't generate enough voltage at low RPM for the coils to generate sufficient spark. At higher revs, the battery also acts as a voltage regulator, as the actual regulator allows a pretty high voltage. Potential to blow light bulbs without a proper battery in place.

For the price, you can buy a good battery. If size is an issue (custom/cafe), you are still better off with a true battery of a smaller size, as long as you keep it maintained (levels/voltage).

The guy that sells those is a dick. He claims they will work on many motorcycles when it's just not true. He claims it will work on GT750. NOT!!! It is nothing more than a big capacitor. I've called him out on it before, but he stills keeps ripping people off. I don't know if it will work on T500 or not.... if it will, a large capacitor will do the same thing.

Lane is right. That is just a capacitor in a metal tube and is expensive for what it is.

It also will not work on any motorcycle that uses electro magnets in the alternator and that includes GT750, Honda 750 and a lot more. I am not familiar enough with the T500 to be sure, but I think it has permanent magnets so it should work, but the alternator really doesn't make enough power to keep the lights on at low revs.

I'd recommend keeping a battery.

He has cleaned up his act somewhat in that he admits that it only works on permanent magnet alternators. It's still way too expensive.

As said above, it won't work on any of the triples, as they need battery voltage to energise the coils in the first place. Also, they have excited-field alternators which won't generate any power if there's no juice in the battery.

That's funny. The capacitors I have used in the past are about ten times that big! What a scam.

Hi,in my experience all two strokes need a good functioning battery & electrics to get them to perform the way they should...my GT750 has never run better,now it has a new Motobatt battery & Accent Electronic Ignition
