I know he's a Kawi man, but a few years ago he was making seat covers and replacement foams for the GT's. Anyone know if he is still doing that?. The seat that came with my current 550 has brand new, double ugly seat cover. The pan appears to be from the newer releases of the 550 seats from Suzuki as it looks to be brand new.
Is this ugly or what? Pan and hardware look new, but the foam looks old if you look through the rear holes. A real puzzle. No chrome border and no strap.

I don't know if Rick is still supplying those or not. I have one of his 750 covers I never used. It seems that your seat was recovered and the pan restored by a local upholsterer. I sent Rick a message. Will let you know...

.
I suppose that's possible Lane. Up close it does look like it's been painted. However, the battery box and tool box were so rusted out I had to trash them. I'm used to seeing rusted away upholstery 'teeth', but these look to be fine. I guess I'll never know the chain of events. What really looks wrong with the seat is it's too rounded in the front and nearly flat. There is a step in the middle but very slight.

If you want a seat cover that really looks like the original, try this guy on eBay: (Pit Replica)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-GT380-GT ... 77&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've gotten 2 seat covers from him, both were great quality and looked exactly like the originals, from what I could tell. Pretty good prices, too.

Brad at HVC Cycle sells new foam and other rebuild bits - he also sells the right aluminium pins and clips for re-securing the trim.
