Seat lock , gt750
Hi guys, I'm trying to find a seat lock assembly for a 1974 gt750, mine didn't have it when I bought it, it's also missing the latch that bolts under the seat pan , if anybody has one for sale let me know thanks!!!

Re: Seat lock , gt750
Eddie,
My reply is a bit self-serving, but there it is:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301461162497? ... 1555.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You should probably be able to find one in a US-based breakers yard, lord knows there'll be enough rusted-out seats, still with their mountings. Locks are a different issue, they have mostly been stripped off and I've never seen NOS there.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Seat lock , gt750
thanks! ya I saw this ebay add, I have tried all the junk yards around here and nobody has a friggin seat or seat pan , or the lock
the next junkyard near me is two states away and is really not worth the drive, ill spend 100.00 bucks in gas round trip, maybe I should just opt for the ebay one, but ill still be missing the lock assembly, theres a lock assembly on ebay for 100.00 bucks....

I have a lock on mine with no tumbler in it (everything grenaded inside of it). It's a pain but still works, I feel your pain I looked for awhile and gave up.

Be patient and continue to watch Ebay. I see the locks pop up quite often. I've also seen the key included, but that's not often. I rarely see the seat latch. But, I'm sure you could get one off Ebay with persistence. I'm almost positive the 550 / 380 locks and seat latches are exactly the same.

Re: Seat lock , gt750
That's insane. I had no use for that stuff on my cafe build. I sold the lock assembly on ebay. It went for $18.00 and got shipped to Germany. I might have the latch, I'll have to look. If I have it, you can have it.theres a lock assembly on ebay for 100.00 bucks..
I just took a quick look and didn't find it. I need to look some more but it's too friggin cold in the garage. Somewhere I have a bag with a bunch of seat rubbers and other seat parts. I went through about a dozen junkers looking for a good seat. Most went in the trash but I kept the usable stuff..
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

If you still need one by next week, PM me and I'll see what I can dig up when I get back from the land Downunder. I know I have a couple and I'm sure we can work out a mutually beneficial price.

Thanks for the offer gp, I actually ended up buying that seat lock off of ebay, I know way over priced but that was my x-mas present to myself, now I just need the plate that mounts under the seat pan, that the lock latches to, I'm thinking about making one since I spent way to much dough on the lock assembly

I think you could make one. I modified mine (shortened it) to lower my seat and I think there's enough room in there to bend something up.Eddie wrote:Thanks for the offer gp, I actually ended up buying that seat lock off of ebay, I know way over priced but that was my x-mas present to myself, now I just need the plate that mounts under the seat pan, that the lock latches to, I'm thinking about making one since I spent way to much dough on the lock assembly
