Chain Adjusters

Post by Coyote »

What was the original finish on the chain adjusters? Were they ever chrome?
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

I believe they were zinc plated. I've had mine chromed :-)

Some early 750Js had chrome adjusters, I'm not sure for how long though. Some adjusters had holes in their sides and some didn't as well.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Thanks Allan. That explains where the chrome ones in the pile came from originally.

Chrome on the 550s.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

I think most were chrome but not highly polished so they looked a bit flat like zink.

I purchased a set from an early GS model off Ebay that was chrome plated to restore my 750. They had holes and were spot on to what originally came on the bike. They were in excellent condition and I only payed $18 for them. I've seen the GT adjusters as high as $80. My originals were zinc plated and rusted to hell.
