Hi TZ,
Did you determine if the intake boots in the pic you posted or Dave posted is GS1100?? That would certainly cure a lot of problems for us all.
Thanks!!

Re: GT750 34VM Mikunis
I'm pretty sure it's an intake rubber from a GS1100E. I bought one to check it out and I have no idea where that went to. Too many projects back and too many lined up again.
There are usually some cheap ones on ebay you can test with to be sure. I like the look of a couple on Geoff's link for 34mm Mikunis and at only 8 bucks it would be worthwhile buying a couple to see.
I'm fitting either VM32 (J-K) carbs to the next build and probably a set of 32mm TMs to the one after that and I'll need a set of angled intakes for that one. I have the carbs but it will be a few months before I'm ready to start thinking about it.

Re: GT750 34VM Mikunis
Sorry to jump on this old thread, but I had the same issue with VM34 clearance on my GT750 and seems I found the right solution.
I purchased a carb boot from a Kawasaki EN500 - it has 42 and 45mm diameter and is 5 degrees angled. The mounted VM34 carb just lightly touches the case. I can easily remove that part of the case, where the highest stud of the clutch cover goes into.
Sorry for my english, I will post pictures in the next few days

Re: GT750 34VM Mikunis
To keep this thread going instead of starting a new one....
After reading wolfgangh's reply about the Vulcan intake manifolds I gave them a try since I want to run VM34 carbs on my project GT750, and ran into the usual carb/case interferance.
These fit 1996-2009 Kawasaki EN500 Vulcan part # 16065-1320. Earlier than '96 has a different part no and I don't know about them. I bought mine used off fleabay as a feasability study before buying three new ones. I gave $15 for the pair shipped, with clamps.
As you can see in the pics the Kaw intakes have an upward angle (or any direction) and the 34mm carb float bowl all but clears the clutch housing. The drain plug clears by a lot. You can see the difference in the angle compared to the other carbs. The 34mm Mikuni fits perfectly into the intake. The engine side has a small gap that I suppose could be fixed by shortening the intake stub by that small amount. The intake side ID is almost perfect.
Hope this helps somebody along the way.

On my 34s, I am using 72 carb intake rubbers, but I do have a 3mm lift on the cylinders. I had to grind off part of the drain plug for clearance....

Hello Mark,
I did exactly like you. I cut of ca. 3mm of the intake stub of the VM34´s in order to have them sit in the groove of the intake manifolds. Works perfect for me.
best regards
Wolfgang
