1968 tc-250 or ? Mystery
Hi folks, new member but have been looking at a lot of posts (good stuff) basically im 53-4 kids-wife,live in nsw australia.my daily ride suzuki 250 marauda, club plate bike 1983 gsx-250,bush bikes ts-100 3#rv-90 plus 4 other brands. My query at the moment is trying to identify this bike (if pics work) from my world of bikes book and pics on this forum i am thinking its a tc-250 two stroke.on my pics there is no frame number stamped on the head stem but there used to be a small plate pinned to the frame l/h lower near foot peg-also the head light is made in chech republic, the motor in the bike at the moment is a tc-90 high/low which some one has plonked in.i can tell from mounting points its the wrong engine for that frame.the frame has the "s" steering damper and the oil tank seems correct as with the fuel tank even with the plastic tube fuel gauge.my aim is to restore the bike for week end rides so pic and poke at it and let me know what it might be.once we have sorted the model out i will post pics of the on going resto in the resto section...thanks ken my photos seem to big-now what?

The photos didn't show up unfortunately - you need to post them to a site like PhotoBucket, and then link to them. About the frame number - so far as I know, Suzuki did stamp all their frames, just not always on the head stock. - take a look on the frame gusset at the rear of the engine just by the rear brake lever pivot point.
This page has a few photos - your bike is something like one of these ?

Re: 1968 tc-250 or ? Mystery
The only place on the frame is evidance of a tag (no longer there)pinned on the gusset just above the left foot peg,in the only photo out of 10 that i managed to post you can see the original black paint where the tag was,i have a rv-90 with the same tag-same location stating the model of frame ie:1973 rv-90,In australia we know these as private imports as we usually have a bigger aluminium tag with australian design rules stamped on with frame number and year of production-these are always pinned on the head stem.as i stated in my first post i am 53 and struggling with posting pics from photo-bucket to here, very frustrating.there seems to be no guidence on this forum or photo-bucket...Ken

Pretty sure it's a tc250. Footpegs and enclosed rear shocks give it away. The only numbers were on the plate that was riveted on by the left footpeg

Re: 1968 tc-250 or ? Mystery
Is it just a trick of the light, or is there a number stamped in the frame gusset by top of the right side shock ?

Re: 1968 tc-250 or ? Mystery
So no number stamped by the shock then ? I just find it odd, as I have yet to come across a Suzuki that doesn't have something stamped into the frame somewhere, in addition to the usual tag, label or plate which often gets lost with time. The only exceptions I've heard of previously have been frames that were replaced and not re-stamped. The three locations I've seen are headstock, near the right side foot rest and near the upper right side shock mount. Sometimes they are hard to spot if the frame has been powder coated or repainted - or damaged I suppose, but it seems strange there wouldn't be one at all.
Anyway - good luck with the build ! Best to just start a new thread when you get going.
