Question. The release mechanism with the three rollers seemed to be packed with something that was once grease. Got it apart and all cleaned up. I'll probably get a new outer seal before I put it back together. Do I pack it with grease or just grease it up good when I put it back together?. All those pieces are hardened and it seems to me like it would work good even if left dry. I cant recall what I did with RedZone, but the only thing I remember packing was the steering bearings. How do you guys normally treat this section?

On the 750 that part has three black plastic landing rubbers and if the 550 is the same that may be what rotted down.

The rubbers are still there -- on both sides.

I smothered mine with regular LM grease after cleaning and upon reassembly. It'll move more smoothly once loaded up if greased. Mike
