I'm new to this forum and large wheel 2 strokes. As yet I don't have a suzuki but I'm thinking of getting one. I have to shift from 10" 2 strokes as I've had a couple of discs removed and need to think about how I keep riding long term.
Suzsmokeyallan, you mention dropping in an A100 power unit into the U range frame and upgrading the drums. How much more work and what if any alteration to the stock u50/70 is needed for this? Can A100 wheels be used? Does it come with 12v electrics, and can the u50/70 loom handle that or will a new one be needed? I presume a100 hubs would do the trick - how dissimilar to the U's are they?
Finally, what's the difference between the u50 and 70 engine units? Is it a bit more than a simple barrel and piston swap? Hope someone can answer. Sorry for all the questions!
Looking forward to contributing whatever I can to the forum. My purchase is looking like a done deal (one way or another) so quite excited now by all things Suzuki!
