Suzuki 2 Strokes

Hi!

I have a new to me GT750, where I just had it started up for the first time today. It was all great, besides the fact that I couldn't get it out of neutral.

I have no chain on the bike at this moment. How to proceed? Can it be an incorrect bolt in the neutral selector or something like that?

Has the bike been unused for some time?

The clutch plates are probably stuck together....

But it should still shift gears, where the clutch is pulled or not?

Some interesting things on your GT .. looks like a Power Dynamo charging / ignition system and a strange custom 3 into 1 exhaust system ? Hopefully you will be able to find neu when you get a chain on her .

I put on the powerdynamo system, absolutely lovely! Runs without a battery. A Dresda swingarm too by the looks? I have bought some 3-3s for it

As Dave said....I think you need to get the chain back on, as without it you can't move the transmission. Once it's on, the bike can be rocked back and forth as you press the pedal.....I wouldn't mind betting it will click in once you do that.

Sounds a little noisy for a water cooled 2-stroke to me. Got water in it?
Without putting a stethoscope on it, I'd guess rod main bearings.

Its kinda hard to make a call right now .. get it running and idling steady and ask the question again

It's hard to tell from a vid...but these engines were fairly quiet, ie free from mechanical noises, and yours sounds rough to me.

I tried to remove the gearindicator switch, couldn't move anything.

Gearselectorbolt was loose and the ball was missing. PO must have known something.

Took off clutchcover to try and select something, which also didn't work.

Where in the country of Denmark are you located? I live in Vejle, maybe we could Exchange numbers, as we aren't many Young two stroke heads here.

What are your plans for the bike?
