it will take a time to 'use' the residual power. I wouldn't worry about it.
That's right where I'm at. -- done worrying about it. I pulled the rectifier wires - no difference. Left those wires out and pulled the regulator wires - no difference. I already pulled the coil wires yesterday. That also made no difference. EVERYTHING else works properly and it's time to move on. All the lights work and the ignition and starter motor. I have good hot spark. I am very anxious to get it up and running. Like you say, it takes nearly no energy for that LED to slowly din out. Also, I rarely use the kill switch anyway and it works correctly with that switch in the on position.

I still believe it has something to do with that open orange wire in the headlight shell. It's a hot wire with the key on so It should go somewhere. But everything is working so I'm going to insulate it well so as not to short out and forget it.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hi!

Can you also pull the cable of the turn signal relay and then take the test?
I tried this with a LED Neutral lamp, it makes no difference at my Bike, but maybe your relay is slightly different.
(The original relay contains a ~20μf condenser)

I had a look on a loose wiring tree out of my spare parts box. There also is this additional orange wire with female-connector, and nothing to plug in it. Probably, it is intended only as a preparation for additional electrical devices. The wire goes to a soldering point under the cable isolation, where the orange wires are connected together.

Markush, you nailed it!! Pulled the 2 flasher wires and the problem is gone! Now, how do I fix it? Or just ignore it?
Also a little fuzzy about the orange wire. Does it connect or not? And yes it has a female connector.

Anything supplying power should have a female connector.
Home, industrial, vehicle - anything, and all items receiving power have a male connector.
That's so 'hot' pins are never available to touch.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

It would not occur in this way with a light bulb. So it doesn't matter, if you ignore it. If it's bothering you, change the LED with bulb. Or use another (up-to-date) flasher relay. I think it is a peculiarity of your specific relay, so also another original relay will probably work.

The orange line connector need not necessarily be connected anywhere. It has contact with Battery-Plus when the ignition switch is on. You can connect additional loads with it (e.g. heated grips or other gimmicks :D ), but you do not need.

Hi Coyote, Just a small point relating to your extra orange wire in your headlight. I have a 1977 Sebring GT380 and I too have that spare orange wire. I have been told that Suzuki also produced a Police Patrol model of the GT series and the extra wire is a power source for the Siren, Blue Lights, and Radio. I have a picture of said model at the back of my parts catalogue, so I just ignored it and all works fine.

Glyn, that makes sense. I remember seeing a pic of one of those police jobs a long time ago. I guess all the triples were used. The one I saw was a Buffalo.

Well what a thread. I’ve got almost identical problem with my T 500. No warning light on the right flasher and intermittent neural light when I turn ignition on No LEDs on mine.
So what’s the fix as this thread is all over the place to an average electrician ?

Better to state YOUR issue as this thread is 5 years + old.
'Almost' is no use to anyone wishing to help.
There are better than average sparkies on here.
What, exactly, is the issue with your bike?
Where are you in the Uk anyway?
I'm based in South Yorkshire and have had Suzukis since 1967 - triples since 1972 - still got 'several' including 2 550s in rebuild/resto.
Older doesn't mean dafter.

Ok will start a new thread although the issues are almost the same as the OP on here which I’ve read every post.
