That is exactly what i think every time i have problems in the garage or spend to much Money... But first time i kick it, i am truly glad
i didn't buy someone elses project. I wanna know what's inside Down to the last bid, and i wanna know exactly what corners that have been cut, there is always some corners :mrgreen:

I agree, they really do.

But they also know what they want for it. But looks nice.....
If it's not broken - don't fix it. Why not?

Grand progress last week on my T125, in that I bought another!!!! This one is in startlingly good shape compared to the first. (Which looked like it was pulled from the bottom of a river.) This one actually kicks over and shifts. Gastank is all shiny inside still! It hasn't run in over 20 years. Been sitting in the POs basement waiting for me. Looks to me like a custom job was started, and just never finished. Haven't done a compression test yet, but the kick-start will blow my finger out of the spark plug holes. You know, since January, just about every day I search the entire country for this particular bike. Usually IF one pops up (And that is a big 'if'.) it is in Texas or on the west coast. Far away from New England. But unbelievably, this one popped up a the town three over from mine.

Check out that delicious tank! That is some 70's gold right there. I love it. I wanted to paint my T125, but as an artist myself, I don't think I have the heart to paint over this nostalgic masterpiece.

Missing the headlight, speedo, blinkers, taillight, bar wireing, one shock, but guess what. I have all that stuff on my other bike. (THough the stuff is pretty rusty for this pretty thing.) In fact, the only thing I seem to be missing between the two bikes is the air filter hose.

LOVE THAT TANK!!! You have to keep it that way. If you ever decide to repaint it, I will trade you a tank to repaint. SERIOUSLY!

Congrats on the second T125. Ususally that's the best way of getting the parts you need for one is to pick up a parts bike or get a bike that's better and use the first as a parts bike.

Thanks Diamond J! I love that tank too! It looks fantastic inside as well. I have my heart set on keeping it, and even if I paint one, setting this one on a shelf to admire. But if I ever decide to trade it, you are the first one I will talk too.

Yeah, I kept looking at my first, rusted husk of a bike and getting overwhelmed. This is a muuuuuuch better starting point! I am wondering if it will run. But I should probably be patient and clean the carbs out first. Naturally I am so busy with work all I can do is stare at it at the moment. But it is much nicer to stare at than my first t125. :up:

Started thinking about my seat. I am going for a cafe racer-ish build. And one of the best way's I've seen to do the seat hump is to cut another identical gastank up for it. I just happen to have a totally rusted out gastank, that is pretty solid where I'd need it to be. A lot of eyeballing, a little tape and a saws all and here we are mocking it up.

But I will need something to weld it together, and being that it is tax fee weekend here in MA, I got this. :D I've wanted a mig welder for over a decade. So I am doing a little dance. Hobart Handler 210. Now I need to have an outlet wired in my garage so I can use it!

Try setting the engine with the piston and cylinder facing up and fill the top with regular white vinegar. You may have to plug up the ports with tape, corks or clay. It's amazing how well it works. Let it sit for 24 hours or so and try to twist and tap. Looks like a fun project. Love your concept work!

Thanks for the reply! This forum can be pretty quiet at times and it is nice to know someone is checking my stinger out. I wound up getting the piston free with heat and brute force. But since then I picked up another Stinger (above) which is a mucho better starting point!
