Its funny as while at the checkout at Ace hardware i picked up one of those multi point screwdrivers they sell at the counter with the square orange handle , the phillips screwdriver works perfectly on the Suzuki screws .

the older i get the faster i was

Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: Allen screw sets for points & points plate on the triple
Alan,
Might well be BA. My old tiny spanners used in 60s/70s model aeroplane engine mountings do fit my points and they're all BA (an antiquated system that made no sense to a common man then or now!).
To your earlier point >>I think this thread should stop soon while it's still decent and legal.
<< Yes.
Cheers!
Mike

Re: Allen screw sets for points & points plate on the triple
There is no room for any type of socket. It must be a spanner, and a thin one at that. See? This is a NOS assembly. That's why none of the screws are mangled. I picked this up a few years ago for $26.00 on ebay. Complete as you see it. Now resides in RedZone.

I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Allen screw sets for points & points plate on the triple
Hi!
Wrench 5,5mm is Norm for M3-Nuts
Screws on points and plates are M4 ( M4 without afterthought, means thread gradient 0.7mm)
This table shows Normal Metric Threads. (There are other thread tables, too)
http://www.gewinde-normen.de/en/iso-coarse-thread.html
M3 (M3 without further informations means: "Normal" thread, Ø 3 mm, thread gradient 0,5 mm)While we are on this subject, does anyone know the size of the tiny nut that retains the assembly sandwich? I have found nothing that fits it, It does not appear to be metric or SAE. Even tried my distributor wrenches and tiny spanners. So, I have been using a teeny pair of channel locks. I'd rater not do that, but I can't find anything that fits.
Just checked. It measures 0.214. That would make it a 5.5mm. No gots 5.5 wrench

Craftsman 10-piece ignition wrench set has 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 mm sizes.
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-10-pc-me ... ockType=G3
These wrenches are quite small. Largest one is about 10 cm long.
