One of my other customs i also ran into problems similar to yours so i also run the largest front sprocket and adjusted the rear sprocket and i also put on a roller wheel and a double set of sliders to keep the chain off the shifter shaft and swingarm pivot .

hmmmmmmmm - thats neat!

The roller is a roller bearing skateboard wheel and its bolted to to a side cover screw hole . I had to open the size of the hole and tap for the bolt . The plate you see i also designed to contain the chain in case there was a break and direct it through and out the bottom instead of bunching up under the side cover .

Richard (teazer or tz375 depending on the board) put together a useful chart for gear ratios, RPM and MPH. HIs site seems to be down at the moment, but you can pull a copy from this link off my site.

Gear shifter shafts also come in 2 different lengths and that can also come in handy .
