I was hoping you would post up the pics, the seals are a tight fit and once installed cannot be removed without destroying them. So if you put them in already you will need another set of them too.
The spacer that goes under the seal has a lipped edge, make sure you install it with the lip around the outside edge of it facing up in the forks.

Re: Front fork seal and spacer part numbers
Suzsmokeyallan,
A while back I picked up a '76 GT750 parts bike that still had both original tires on it. everything on it looks original, including all the rust. The forks were good so I put them on my '73 rider. Decided to rebuild them with new seals, progressive springs, and the fork lengthening mod. I bought the new seals that you can see on the right in the pic. The first old one I pulled out is about 3mm longer than the new one. While taking the other old one out it split in two. Now the old seal is exactly the same height as the new one. Is this original spacer the same as part no. 51168-30B00 that you have listed?
These forks were never taken apart, so I'm wondering if all the old seals are like this.

Re: Front fork seal and spacer part numbers
I have the seals and the spacers, and Progressive fork springs all ready to do my fork rebuild on the 1975 GT750M.
Couple of questions:
1. The seals have a thick side and a narrower side. Which side faces down?
2. Progressive say the fork springs can go in either way around. Any recommendations?

Re: Front fork seal and spacer part numbers
Allan, the spacers I got are slightly rounded one side and flat the other side, but no "lip" that I can see. Looking at the edge of the spacer, the top half appears smother than the bottom. Is the top half the "lip" you are referring to?
In this pic, can you confirm that I have the seal and spacer the right way round to install (right side facing down in the fork)

Coyote, thanks for the link to your post. Intuitively I thought the bevel edge would face down so glad I asked!
