Thanks all. If I can get my finances together I should be polluting the Alabama air old school style in a month or so.

I have confidence in Bill Bune's shop. Do whatever they say.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

T350Rebel - if you decide to go with the Wiseco pistons, just be aware they are louder than the stockers, and also you'll need to do a bit of machining of the casting ledges of the cylinders. If not, the piston skirts of the Wisecos hits them (they don't hit the flywheel as I first thought). See this post for more info:

Also, regarding the Wiseco noise, it does seem to have gotten better now that I've done more miles on the bike.

Mike,
I read over the thread you linked to. Question - would this effect a 1st over (.5 mm) application? Thanks.

Re: 1969 T350 restoration stuck
Not totally sure, but likely, since it wasn't so much the diameter of the pistons, but the skirt design (slightly longer & thicker) that causes the interference with those ledges at BDC. But if you have the cases split anyway, it's the time to do the grinding of the ledges. I could help you out with any questions you have.T350Rebel wrote:Mike,

If you're just going 1st over though, the OEM Suzuki pistons are WAY cheaper, and probably more than reliable enough, unless you're really going to ride it hard.
I was basically forced to go with the Wisecos, because whoever had the bike before me had already bored it out to 2nd over, and the pistons were pretty loose in the bores. There were no 3rd over OEM pistons to be found, and I didn't want to get new cylinders either.

No need to worry about .5mm OS pistons, Wisecos or Suzuki. Usually 1.0mm Wiseco will also fit fine without modifying the cases. Once you get to 1.5mm OS you usually need to!
