Agree with you, Alan.

I can scare myself with a big handful even of a GT380 on a small enough road or at high enough speeds. On the GSX1400, I hardly get the throttle well open at all except for a few seconds joining as main road. Thereafter, the fuel filler cap is an optional extra on bikes like that, utterly mad, and its not even that powerful in the scheme of things. It all happens so fast.

Just read a great review of some sportcar that said something like: 'the acceleration is so intoxicating, that overtaking a line of cars is like having an big, open bag of Maltesers on your lap: suddenly, they're all gone, and you feel a bit sick'.
