Not sure if you have found your issue or not but it sounds odd that it just doesn't want to start. So assuming the kill switch is not the issue. Then here were my top two gremlins from my GT250/330
1. if in doubt on the battery then shut down all lights especially the headlight (but also any turn signals) before trying to start.
2. check your slides. mine had a carb body that eventually warped and would hang a slide open. Found out the hard way when it didn't want to start and when it finally did I saw 10k on the tach before the kill switch did it's duty! Turned out the carb was fine once it warmed up (physically) but cold the slide would stick. If it stuck open at all it was a bear to start.
