Engine metal sealing.

Post by Repeater »

I just had my T500 engine rebuilt. The cases and head where soda blasted. I've researching how to seal and or control oxidation. It's seems its either clear coat or WD40. I did find sone stuff called sharkhide, but can't seem to find much on it's use on an engine / air cooled engine.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to clear coat. I've read it can be hit or miss with it turning yellow.

I use GT85. Similar to WD40 but doesn't evaporate as quickly.

look for surface shield. I'm using it since 40 years plus.
