Does anyone know if it is possible to adapt the crankcases of the GT 550 J that use the pressed in SRIS valves to accept the screw in type valves.
Any advice welcome.

Re: GT 550 J SRIS valve
A couple of options spring to mind - this one that I did on my J resto, here - https://www.kettleclinic.co.uk/kcforum/ ... RIS#p99650 on my J rebuild some time ago, or just cut threads in the crankcase for the threaded ones. You'll need to split the cases to clean out any swarf if you do it that way though.
Easiest is 'my way' and use loctite to keep them in. 3 years on and they haven't shifted.

Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
