Drum Brake GT380
Hello. Is this gap between the hub and brake plate normal? Thanks.

Re: Drum Brake GT380
Well there obviously has to be 'some' gap there .
Does it all fit comfortably withing the fork gap? If you feel you have to physically splay the forks it's probably not right.

Re: Drum Brake GT380
It fits OK between the forks, but it does appear that the fork spacing on the non-brake side is not as wide as that on the brake side. I had a T350 and I think the brake hub also had this gap, but am not 100% sure. There is a bushing pressed into the axle bore on the inside of the brake plate that is not flush and I believe that is what is keeping it from seating all the way. Don't want to start grinding away on it though I until I'm sure its a problem, otherwise I might have a bigger problem!!!

As grumpy56 said, make sure the wheel bearings are fully seated.
Also make sure the speedo drive is properly engaged.

Jabcb: Does your 72 380 have that gap between hub and brake plate or is it flush?

Re: Drum Brake GT380
My 72 GT380 has a GT550/GT750 4LS front brake.
The 72 GT380 front brake is similar to the T350 front brake.
Just checked the gap on my 69 T350 & it’s a lot less than your’s. Looks to be around 0.04 inches.
