18 inch front rim sawp, what length spokes?

Hello, I have some 18 inch Boriani rims that I want to put on a gt5750 front wheel which currently has a 19 inch rim.
Does anyone know what length spokes I need to order?

I suspect that Buchanan's will know the answer to that question. I ordered spokes for a GT750 rear wheel with a DID drop center rim and they knew exactly what I needed.

You'll need to get your ruler out but this might help.. As mentioned getting an accurate measurement of 'effective rim diameter' is the key.
I've done a few push-bike wheels which I'll admit I found tricky to true - but never a m'bike... Yet!

I didn't notice you were in France. When I rebuilt one GT750 front wheel with an 18" DID alloy rim, I was able to use a set of spokes from a TZ250/350 C/D/E/F model. The hubs are almost identical in width and diameter.

The GT250 uses the same hub as the GT550/GT750, and it has an 18” rim.
If the DID rim cross-section profile is about the same the Suzuki rim, I would expect the GT250 spokes to work fine. But if its a wide-width drop center rim, the spokes would need to be a little shorter.

The GT250 spokes are also used on several GS models & the TU250X. The spokes are available from Suzuki.
The GT250 rim is 18x1.60. The TU250X rim is 18x1.85 & is available from Suzuki.

For my GT550 build, I used an 18x2.15 Excel rim + Buchanan’s polished stainless steel spokes. The results are definitely nice.
Buchanan’s has been making spokes and building wheels for many decades. Given the hub & rim, the know what spoke specs are needed.

They should be a similar shop in Europe that will know the spoke specs given your choice of hub & rim. One has been mentioned on this forum — perhaps one of the European members will have that info.

Thanks for the replies, forgot to say its a twin disc brake hub, not the drum brake.

That's what I laced into a DID rim with TZ spokes and sounds like that's what JABCB is talking about too.

Look like about 7 inches....possibly 7.25
Not sure how far they are going into the nipple....it's been a while since I did these

Interesting floating discs you have there. What are they from? Are they the same diameter as normal?

The rotors are from 84/86 GS1150, or GSX1100EFE depending on what country bike was sold
Same size as GT and GS rotors throughout the 70's
Direct bolt up.

interesting thanks. Might use that info to good effect if i find my gt brakes aren't up to snuff

just measured a new set of gt250 spokes [18" rim] and both sets are 80mm long from the corner of the bend to the end of the thread. 18 of them have 90 degree bends on them, the other 18 have slightly more than 90 degrees. hope this helps?
