getting it this week.. and here is what he has to say about my bike....
i John ,
I got the original US Title fedex`ed over from the States
. And as she is a Historic Vehicle , currently we are not required to have an MOT. So I have just sent off the Registration application with all the other stuff thats needed.
What she does need are some new handlebar rubber mounts. We`d have got an advisory on that , at least. Excessive fore and aft play on bars. ( About20mm )
Looking over her it`s hard to believe that it`s not been restored. As frame has no rust under tank. Although then there are spots on the chrome on the hidden part at the front of the rear mudguard. Seat is perfect too. Looks like new points and condensors in there . Although the casing crosshead screws have some wear from screwdirver use.
Only real fault is the tail light bracket. The chrome is flaking off that.
I doubt you need to worry bout the crank seals. Yes , she smokes . But thats without a good run. and it` mineral 2 stroke oil , which is fine. It`s when it stops smoking you need to worry !!!
sound good. now I canna wait lol. get it tomorrow afternoon.
trying to get a front end off a gt500 but no luck so far.
forks I can get etc but want a complete front end......
as for the advisory on the handle bar movement, they were like that when new in 73.
so hopefully thats all it is.
T500 coming soon!

congrats! I think you'll love it. I prefer the power of the 500 twin over the 380 or 550 triples personally, they are torque monsters!

Re: T500 coming soon!
she is finally here. not as good as expected but will clean up nicely over winter months. engine sound lovely no smoke but theres a clutch rattle so I'll take a look at that once I get it onto the lift.rust spot plenty under the seat but will clean up nicely as well as the rest of the chrome.paint work has scratches as expected on a 45 year old bike. what I would call battle scares ,at 66 I've got a few to.lol just the usual muck acculations etc will give it a good wash later. as for the handle bar movement nothing wrong with them ,just as I remember back in the 70's. it has an after market cruise control! but will remove that later.

I'm gonna need some pink touch up paint. anyone know the equivalent to use?
I doubt I can get a proper touch up without paying an arm and a leg price.

It looks like a very nice usable bike. Sure the chrome may need a little sorting on the back light bracket, but I'm sure you'll have her looking better soon. A nice ride you have there.
