couldn't find the thread with the dutch electronic ignition, which is basically a copy of what i was doing years ago. anyway, here's a photo of mine on a 1965 t10 engine. now minus the advance/retard unit, condensors, points, cam, etc. and just the backplate, unit and 2 wires to connect. starts first prod of the button and looks a damned sight neater. i've fitted these to dt125's. gt250's, rg250 [that was a bit harder, i used the magnets on the outside of the magneto rotor to fire the pick-up excuse the lack of shine, i've just pulled her out of winter hibernation
cheers, dd.

Re: electronic ignition - my version
Nice & neat DD, but as a very economical Yorkshireman, I use points on all my triples.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: electronic ignition - my version
unfortunately alan, for a triple it wouldn't quite be so neat. for a start you'd need 3 pick-ups - £100 then you'd need a rotor [or ignition ring as they call it] with only one magnet in it = best way to do this would be to demagnetise one side, to keep the rotor balanced. then of course you'd need 3 backplates for adjusting the advance/retard, so all in all i gave up with the triples. it works well on singles and twins though and remember, i thought of it first!
