When they changed the oil capacity from 1200ml to 1400ml on the GT500, I wonder if they moved the oil level screw hole up a bit to reflect the extra 200ml?
(Or maybe that 'dam' arrangement inside means there was no need).

I asked some time ago and the answer was no.
You fill it to the screw level and then add 200ml.
You can see the oil level when you look down the oil filler hole.
So once you’ve got the correct level figured out, you can use something like a clean screwdriver to check the oil level.

I've posted this photo before (the original is on my site at this link) but just to repeat what jabcb has said, the check hole position was never updated by Suzuki. The photo shows the delta in the correct level compared to the check hole - you have to measure the oil.
