75 GT550 clutch

Post by tennesseetwostroke »

Does anyone know if there is a washer behind the clutch assembly or does it ride against the bearing ? I am building a 74 motor with the clutch from a 75. The shop manuals I have, old Clymers, show a washer in the back. Neither motor had one when I disassembled them.

Thanks for the replies. Every diagram I see is different. The service bulletin on the upgrade to the newer borg warner starter bearing looks like it does not have one. The primary and driven gear line up almost perfectly so hopefully I have it right.

I'd buy the old clutch off you but the postage would be a killer I think.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
