Dresda GT 750 - eBay UK

Post by Zunspec4 »

I knew of (and have seen) the Dresda T500. Just spotted a Dresda GT750 on UK eBay, I did not know Dresda produced a frame for the 750.

Thought it might be of interest.

The fairing is Dunstall I think, the indicators fit like a sock on a chicken's lip, original rear light nailed on the back of the seat looks wrong to me, no chambers, and the fitment of the clip-ons is awful !
A hell of a lot of money for a very shoddy looking bike !
Keeping old 2 strokes alive !

Hi Titan-P,

I was wondering if it was just some fibreglass dressing of a std, frame. Dresda frames are derived from the good old Norton "Featherbed/Manx" frames and this one does not look like that.

It's definitely an aftermarket frame, and it matches the pics in the period articles which can be seen in the eBay listing.

Dresda did market some bloody ugly tank / seat units that were nowhere near as nice as the Dunstall stuff in the 70s, so it might well be genuine ... they did make some one-offs.
1976 GT380 - wounded by me, and sold on
2006 SV650S - killed by a patch of diesel and a kerb in Feb 2019
2017 SV650 AL7 - naked and unashamed

Can't believe that thing came out of Dave Degens workshop in that state.ok, the tank and body work look like his, but the clip ons alone are an assault one ones sensibilities.
I just hope that if it is aDresda frame, someone with a bit of mechanical sympathy gets hold of it and fixes it properly.

Here is shot of a friends Dresda Honda, you can see the Norton frame resembalance (not surprisingly  ). The GT 750 frame is quite different.

Fairing is Dresda as are the tank and seat. It looks just like the adverts and articles from back in the day to me.

Clip ons also look original. And so does the battery box/oil tank inside the frame rails.

BIKE magazine had a build over three or four editions, way back when.

It also has the Dresda box section swingarm.

It certainly shows signs of grounding the right side pipes (even seen in the article photo). Proves it would go round corners
