question for GT750 owners

Post by smokin_blue »

I have a friend building a very sweet custom triumph and he is trying to find a set of fork boots that will fit with his Ceriani front end. Most aftermarket boots aren't the right size. Then I looked at my T500 and that is very close so we both had the wondering thought of what are the dimensions on a GT750?

I am looking for a GT750 owner that has a model with fork boots that is willing to measure what the diameter of the fork lower is where the boot slides over as well as the ring at the top that the boot snaps into. Then if you could measure what the overall length of the boot is and note if it is on the side stand or center stand.

Thanks! any help is appreciated!

On my M model, which I don't think should have them fitted in the first place, the grooves for the gaiters are 54mm Diameter at each end, (fork leg at the bottom & yoke shroud top)....and the length of the relaxed, (not fitted), gaiter is 168mm. There's no motor in the frame right now so the fork measurements probabaly won't help but with no engine and with the bike on neither stand, the grooves are approx 180mm apart, centre to centre.

I'd have to check but I presume someone has just fitted a top shroud from an earlier model so they could fit gaiters, (not a bad idea with the cost of replacement stantions), so the measurements should be the same.

Hth, Drew.
