Cruzinimage Rings On Suzuki Pistons?

Post by Drewski »

Will that work OK?
My replacement cylinder block has arrived and it's strangely still on original bore with very little wear to it or the pistons so I'm having it honed only and just replacing the rings.
(I've noticed the ports aren't chamfered so I'm wondering if the cylinder may have been replaced on the bike it came from??).

Am I ok using Cruzinimage rings on the Suzy pistons? There's quite a saving to be made if so........ but not if the top end self-destructs shortly afterwards :D

Check out these prices for complete sets:-

Suzuki Rings, Robinsons Foundry, UK Dealer........................$191 US - £148 GBP
Suzuki Rings, Partzilla US Online Dealer.............................$90 US - £70 GBP
Aftermarket Rings, Cruzinimage Japanese online dealer..........$26 US - £20 GBP

If they are Keystone rings they may be usable. If they are specifically for their aftermarket pistons, I don't know. Ask the right questions. You might ask Paul Miller for a price as well.

Of course, I have a set of standard pistons I took out of Blueboy that were still running fine. If you want those rings, I'll give them to you. (pistons too, if you want...)

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

I'm always drawn to anything that saves me coinage  What's the mileage on those rings? The block came with pistons that look fairly new too.

I doubt more than 5K. I replaced them when I built the engine, then when I had to do the crank a couple of years ago, I bored it....just because.

Lane.....it's very tempting but as everything else is being replaced, it's probably best to go with new rings too. Thanks for the offer though, much appreciated

At the price, I would order a set of Criuzin rings and measure them and try them on your pistons. I have a set here that I used on a motor and they seemed to fit perfectly on the pistons I fitted them to.

I use their pistons and rings in several bikes and have had zero problems so far and if I do, it's because I race with them and run them way harder than in a street bike.

Well.....he does sell them on their own so presumedly people are fitting them to Suzuki pistons. At that much of a saving, I'm going to have to go for it.
