gt550 kickstarter shaft sticking out too far
Hi there, hope I'm posting in the right spot (sorry if not), anyways I got my gt550 case put together and I am trying to load kickstart spring load. The shaft is sticking out about a cm to far (so the eng case won't go on. When I turn the kickstarter shaft the 3/4 turn counter clockwiise the spring gets pressure then the shaft moves a little outwards and the spring them unwinds the pressure of it again. I can see the shaft should be in a little bit further, there is part of the shaft that should be closer to the bearing, and the ratchet isn't going in far enough to embassies the gear, I'm praying to the suzuki gods (just a joke no offense intended) I'm not having to pull it back apart. And i can do this from the outside. Its super hard getting it by myself. I have odd work hrs. And getting help isn't super easy lol. Thanks for any help you can give me on the subject. Also I am 98 percent sure the spring is in the right slot (or was when case closed) and the marks on the races of the shaft have the notches facing correctly (100 percent) as per gt550 service manual. Thanks again
